Paypal scam (Again)

I got this email today :

Dear customer,

Your PayPal account has been locked for security reason.

The following changes to your paypal were made on (Date here)

Operating System: Linux

Location: China - We need to understand these changes better.

To continue using your account again, we advice you to update the information

before 24 hours or your account will be permanently locked.

And with a button below it.

Funny part is that if you try to copy this you get strange text. So I typed it over here !

But Dear customer, looks like :

Dperihisakiatajqnikeperihisakiatajqnikaperihisakiatajqnikr Cperihisakiatajqnikuperihisakiatajqniksperihisakiatajqniktperihisakiatajqnikoperihisakiatajqnikmperihisakiatajqnikeperihisakiatajqnikr

I know it is fake so I did not follow links, but was curious about the copy /past protection they use Any idea what that is ?

Hi,

Thanks for your contribution to the forum. Yes they try to avoid now that people copy / paste scams in websites like ours and then you see that they do this. Sometimes because they use a picture and sometime because they use a code.

But in basic the best way is to see where the links are going to. And even better, never click on links and fill in any personal information. Always go yourself to the original website as you would do normal. And check there. Do NOT click on links in emails you do NOT trust!
